メッセージ / Recently, English ability has become more important than ever. With Abenomics in place, Japan aims to be again a world leader. Also, Japan may soon join the Trans Pacific Partnership. Finally, in 2020 we will host the Olympic Games. These are reasons to not only to understand English but also produce it. Improving these skills is the goal of this and my other courses.
【学習内容】”Business Advantage” is designed to improve your current level of business English.
The course is CEF A2 Level, and most suitable for the student of the basic-intermediate class level. The course is for professional people who need to:
1.Communicate confidently in everyday business situations
2.Use and understand American and International English
3.Understand global business culture
The course and textbook also include an introduction to the TOEIC.
【学習方法】 The course is mainly a speaking course, but listening is also very important. Reading will be a smaller part of the course. Pair work, group work, business role plays, and discussions with the teacher are typical activities during class time. Students are expected to use English with the teacher and other students in the class. Students will have regular homework assignments. Many assignments can be self-checked.
【学習形態】 The learning mode is ‘learn English in English’. Most of the lesson will be in English. I ask students to imagine that they are living and working in an English-speaking country. Most people in that situation learn English by listening and guessing. The situation in class will be very similar. Students will learn realistic English by using it with me and other students.
The teacher will use both English (90%) and Japanese(10%) in this class.
【受講者に期待する達成レベル】 Students will be close to an intermediate level by the end of this course. They may want to try another higher level business course or a TOEIC course at the college.
