This course introduces comparative politics and provides students with the analytical tools to understand political systems globally. Topics include the nature of comparative politics, state formation, regime types, political institutions, political actors , and governance performance.
It addresses key questions such as :
What are the features of democracies and autocracies? How do government structures affect economic and welfare policies in countries like India and China?
Are some institutions better at promoting accountability and stability? Students will also develop skills to analyze political issues comparatively, understand sources of political change, and communicate arguments logically and persuasively.
